Unibody by Julia Kaldy

Unibody by Julia Kaldy was created as part of her master’s thesis project. This collection of shoes was made to emphasize the different changes that legs seem to make depending on the shoe. The flesh-colored shoes were designed to merge with the rest of the body and help morph the legs so that they create different shapes. The higher shoes promote the legs to stand up and look thinner, while the flatter shoes manipulate the muscles so that they fall lower.

The Unibody by Julia Kaldy showcases a collection of architecturally interesting designs that push the boundaries of fashion. Kaldy uses the popular design aesthetic of cut-out art. Most of the collection uses this cut-out aesthetic so that the real flesh might show through the shoe and show the unity between the shoe and leg.
