Ikuzo Ramen @ SS2,Petaling Jaya

Another newly opened restaurant Ikuzo Ramen at SS2,The Ramen Revolution is erupting in here where has started serving the Klang Valley's widest range of ramen with cheap price.

Ikuzo cute menu was inspired of Timeout magazine??? Its ramen, made of rye flour, comes in original & spicy flavors , thin or thick in size. Customers can pair the variations with a choice of MSG-free broth.

You can like their Facebook Page here.

 Yakiniku Ramen- rm8.50
UFOs aren't the onlt reason for the sudden rise in cow abductions. Marinated and grilled beef sliced with cabbage kimuchi in a shoyu-based soup.

Hokkaido Ramen - rm8.50(spicy noodle)
Leading the ramen revolution in Hokkaido is the classic miso-based soup served with pork cha-shu, bamboo shoots, spinach, bean sprouts and sweet corn. Revolution the Hokkaido way!
Though the soups are made with pork & chicken bones boiled for hours, they're not as deeply savory & richly satisfying but not amazing. The spicy-red noodles was not so satisfying ,its not chewing.

Suki-ya Shabu Shabu @ Tokyo Street,Pavillion

Almost forgot about this post. This was happened on Chinese New Year.Suki-ya was our destination for our lunch during Chinese New Year.We had make a reservation before the day we go because every time passed by this restaurant always long queue outside.

Their lunch start from 11.30am-5pm.When we arrived at the restaurant, it was still quite empty but come 12.30pm, the place was packed with diners. Service was excellent despite the restaurant being full house, our tea was replenished without us having to signal any of the waiting staff over and so was our meat. Definitely a satisfying lunch experience.

They have 4 tasty soup base to choose from.Shabu-shabu-Low calories and light on the palate, wafer thin slices of meat dipped into simmering konbu broth and cooked for a few seconds is popular in shabu-shabu.a light clear savoury konbu broth), Sukiyaki- Cooked in a sweetened soy-sauce broth, sukiyaki is a favourite of both the young and old.i (sweetened soy sauce broth), Miso soup- Miso is made from fermented soybeans, full of antioxidants like vitamin E, as well as protective fatty acids(salty), kimuchi- A mildly spicy soup made with authentic Kimchi base, spicy Miso and various vegetable base. Enjoy it with spicy Miso sauce, hot pepper or garlic.( the one i like the most). We went for 4 type of soup base since we serve two pot for a table with 6 person of us.

This mini guide to enjoying a delicious sukiyaki plus info and tips on how to cook the meat and vegetable proved to be very useful.

miso soup and kimuchi soup

There is a choice of 3 meats here, beef, lamb and chicken. The Australian beef and lamb are cut in paper-thin slices. You can order as much as you can eat.I not really fancy with meats so i go for their healthy vegetable bar.

The healthy vegetable bar is always stocked with fresh greens, premium pasteurised eggs, noodles, mushrooms and tofu. They have specially made dipping sauce available or you can always create your own favourite sauce. They also have an a-la carte menu with choices ranging from tofu to the ever popular salmon sashimi.

We claimed the sukiyaki soup look alike Bak Kut Teh

On top of the free flow meat and vegetables, you also get free flow ice cream to end the meal. How awesome is that. Vanilla, chocolate or a mixture - take your pick and go wild!

The price for buffet is RM29.80++ for lunch (120 min) and RM39.80++ for dinner (120 min).  (Additional 15mins block at RM3.50). The price excluded of drink,we order green tea(free flow) only at rm2.Very reasonably priced, no wonder this place is packed! The staff will informed you before the 120 minutes has reach.

Gerai Makan Japanese BBQ 大众烧肉 @ Taman Desa

Gerai Makan Japanese BBQ 大众烧肉  tucked in an alley at Plaza Fader in Taman Desa, this petite Japanese food stall was actually manned by Mr. Seiji Fujimoto, the owner of Sanuki Udon (which is also located nearby).

Remember to be there early as the crowd would be coming in. They have limited seats indoor but it’s cooler to be seated outdoors though.

They served fresh meat  like pork,beef,lamb....We don't eat intestine  so was ordered lamb, pork belly, inside leg, ribeye and mix vegetable.

it was a small portion of the meats with the reasonable price, pork belly (rm10),inside leg(rm10),ribeye(rm10)doesn't fit 4 of our tummy

 mix vegetable-rm5

Grilling the meats on the charcoal stove

the staff put the ice to cooling down the fire

Japanese Risotto – RM6
Stewed rice with egg was tummy filling and best eaten together with the meaty portion

Pork Ramen – RM10
too pepperish

Genghis Khan – RM20
The staff wasn't taking our order for this so it become our last dish and this was the only lamb dish available on the menu.

Restoran Makanan Laut Yoke Heng 玉興飯館@Seri Kembangan

This Restoran Makanan Laut Yoke Heng is famous with their claypot lou shu fun, located at Serdang Raya , same row as Restaurant East Of Highway 大道东酒家.I though had been 4-5 years never visit there, they were expand their shop to two shoplot now and one with air-conditioner .I'm not really craving with this famous lou shu fun as well but my grandmum is very like it.

The place was already very popular judging from the vast media coverage spotted on the walls, with a plaque from Ho Chiak as well. You can see there have many HongKong artist visit here before like mosses chan, alan tam....

Finally our main dish claypot loh shu fun was served, unlike other claypot Lou Shu Fan which is usually very dry and dark in color, this has white-yellowish gravy instead,it was generously filled with bits of minced pork, mushrooms and egg.Actually i called this as loh lou shu fun,the thick, gluey gravy with those ‘rat tails’ reminds me of loh mee.Another thing that makes it similar to eating loh mee would be adding black vinegar as the accompaniment. I don’t know about you but when it comes to black vinegar, I can only associate it with loh mee and i very like black vinegar.Without black vinegar this claypot loh shu fun was tasteless, for me...

 Lala is taste nice

vege is so so

Besides claypot Lou Shu Fan, Yoke Heng is also famous for their Chinese dishes like Pork Ribs in Foil which came wrapped in aluminium foil.

Yeoh's Bah Kut Teh @ EAT Food Village,Publika

Finally Yeoh's Bah Kut Teh was open at EAT food village ,publika.I no need to go so far to eat bah kut teh anymore.Originating from Klang started in 1990 as a family run store back in the canteen of Hokkien Association Klang, this local Malaysian delicacy is a concoction of 16 different herbs and spices, boiled
together with pork.

Yeoh's Bah Kut Teh signature dishes include Special Braise pork knuckle and Yeoh's Big Bone in addition to Yeoh's Original Bak Kut Teh, Claypot Bak Kut Teh, Toufu and fresh vegetables.

I ordered claypot bah kut teh small rm13.00,pig stomach in pepper soup rm8.00.

It was quite big portion to served for we 2 person only. The claypot Bah Kut Teh was also yummy. Apart from a mixture of fat and lean meat, there were tau fu pock, cabbage, fu chok and etc. There was also a slight tinge of sweetness. As for the meat, it was also nicely cook. No complaints there.

The pig stomach pepper soup is strong with pepper but too many garlic to dilute the flavor.

They are also operated two branches in Hong Kong.

Fujiya Peko Chan Milky Candy 60th Anniversary

First off, I'd like to apologize for the horrendous photos as I rushed to take them & edit them in a hurry. Bad lighting & all...

I found this ADORABLE Fujiya Peko Milky Candy tin can at Pavillion Tokyo Street. Last year is Milky's 60th anniversary so they've been coming out with a lot of collectors items & goodies. This purchase was a must! It was rm50 only, so reasonably priced & it came with a lot of yummy treats inside.

The Bee @ Publika,Solaris Dutamas

The Bee is another chill out place at Publika, Solaris Dutamas,a neighbourhood food and drink hangout that proudly serves affordable fuss-free food, quality coffee and more. The restaurant was located outside from the main shopping complex, opposite the outside 'stage'.

Despite being Saturday evening, the place was only 20% full.Just feel comfy for me to chit chat with friend at here without any hubbub.

I went there after filled out my stomach at EAT food village so not to order any food there.

The Last Polka homemade ice cream also available at The Bee, would like to try out this on my next visit. :)

There was a stage for a live band, though I don't know when they play.Overall this is a pretty cool chilling place, I'd come back just to hang out and have a snack when bored or chill with friends.
