Email Scam from christie@article-writing-services.org

Well, this is an interesting email i received today from a women name christie from article writing service.

The email i received :

Hello,
My name is Christie from Article Writing Services. We have a client who would like to pay you for the opportunity to sponsor a blog post that you have recently written. We know that blogs can be expensive to run and our client would like the opportunity to support you in that endeavor.
In return our client is asking for one link that they specify placed into the body of the blog post (no porn or gambling). Feel free to contact me with any concerns or clarifications you may have.
If you would have any questions or would like to start the process, please email me at christie@article-writing-services.org so we can begin.
Sincerely,
Christie Lewis

Well,it's look lack of Professionalism.I do not reply anything since i do suspected on this.

Hi, I have a blog called Tameside Citizen and I had the identical email in my inbox this morning.

I copied the message into a search engine and realised that you had the same one too so I think it is fair to suspect our email addresses have been harvested as part of a mass spamming campaign with a possible view to a scam.

I responded with I'd like more information and this is what I received back:

"Let's see if this is a match for you. I’m glad you’re interested. Here are the details. My client, an educational company, would like to sponsor a post on your blog. What this means is that they would make a one-time payment of $10 ($20 for two links) via PayPal for you to link back to them within a post that is currently on your site or, if you preferred, you could write a new post instead.

Here are two examples of other sites that have done this (the sentence with the clickable text, art history online course, was written by us, crafted to blend in naturally): http://www.back2basicsblog.com/2011/03/uninspired.html

http://www.besideourselves.com/2011/03/damnosa-hereditas.html

Please let me know if this is of interest to you and we can move forward.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best,
Christie"

Still not sure what to think of it!

I found your blog googling to find out more about the very same email I got today. Looks like a scammy promotion for 'online courses'. Thanks for posting about this! I did email her back with a 'tell me more' question but it looks like all my questions were answered right here on your blog, hahameow!

You know what? It's not.

The money was just deposited into my paypal account. I posted for them Tuesday night at 1030-11 and commented here shortly after and was sure I wouldn't be seeing any money (figured I'd erase the links because really? It took like 5 seconds to add them). Received an email from Christie that said 3-5 business days, it took less than two.

Hi! I just found your blog while researching this company- they sent me the exact same email. I wasn't sure about the validity of this... Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this?

I got the same email and wondering if I should bother to reply to continue this conversation at all. The weird thing is my website (http://www.sharppencilstudio.com) went live about a month ago, how did they even find it?!
Thanks for sharing this, smells like spam.
